Sherri Shepherd
Sherri Shepherd is an American actress, comedian author, writer, and TV personality who is well-known for being one of the co-hosts of the talk show on the daytime "The View," and also for her appearances on several popular sitcoms.Shepherd was born on the 22nd of April 1967, in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter LaVerne Shepherd, and Lawrence Shepherd. Her father was a deacon at the church that was part of the family. She also managed restaurants while her mother cleaned houses. Shepherd is the third oldest of three children. Shepherd attended Hoffman High School. She was employed as a Beverly Hills legal secretary and began performing stand-up comedy. After being chosen to be a part of "Cleghorne", a short-lived comedy about entertainment, she was inspired to quit her job and pursue a career as entertainer. The show ran on The WB network for one season in 1995. Shepherd was met with financial problems as a result of the show's cancellation. She was forced to live in friends' homes for a year as she sought out more work.In 1996 she was cast in Jaime Foxx's sitcom "The Jaime Foxx Show," which she was as a member of the cast until 2001. In the late 1990s she also got the recurring role on "Suddenly Susan" (now "Everybody Loves Raymond")
